Good neighbors (gnt) has been working in tajikistan since 1998. The objective of gnt is to improve the lives of people, especially children through education, community as well as emergency relief projects. Gnt is working with the key stakeholders such as ministry of education, ministry of health, ministry of labor and migration, committee of women affairs, local authorities, ingos un and donor agencies such as, eu, giz, unicef, wfp, and others in an integrated approach to connect poor and vulnerable communities to quality education, health, water and sanitation services. Good neighbors in tajikistan now invites eligible candidates for health/wash officer position. Health/wash officer will be responsible for implementation of activities as it relates to health, water, sanitation and hygiene in the 6 target community development projects to achieve the goal and outcomes of the above sectors. The candidates’ minimal qualification requirements are: • university degree in health with postgraduate qualification in public health with specialization in environment or health education, additional relevant trainings in health/wash field; • very good understanding of national health/wash policies and strategies, programs and stakeholders tajikistan; • demonstrable management experience and very good understanding of child health issues, school health and common childhood illnesses in tajikistan; • international experience in the sphere of health with other international development institutions; • fluency in english and tajik is must, knowledge of russian would be an asset. Duties: • developing the strategy within gni framework, outcomes, indicators, modules, guidelines, manuals for health/wash sector; • build capacity of field staff, partners and target community health workers on health/ wash interventions and practice; • regularly organize health educational trainings for sponsored children and their parents; • timely provide information on health/wash activities planned on the project; • timely plan trainings and workshops on projects, and provide forms of monitoring to the operation department on the carried-out activities; • identify other opportunities in an ongoing manner that will add value to the overarching strategy of the signature project; • strong proficiency in microsoft excel, including data processing, analysis and systematization, as well as preparation of tables and reports; • development of a detailed implementation plan, including specific activities, timelines, responsible persons, and mechanisms for monitoring implementation; • track and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports of activities relates to health/wash indicators, including documentation of key lessons learnt and successes stories; • preparation of impact stories reflecting project results and positive changes for target groups; • collect and analyze data, outcomes, safety and identify problem areas; • ensure effective spending of health related cdps budget. Establishing partnerships: • collaborate with relevant ministries and other relevant partners at the state, local government and community levels to ensure integration and high-level implementation of all health activities on the signature project. • set cooperation with the regional health centers to carry out health-related activities effectively on the projects site.
